Phillip Henry
|
|
|
|
Employee of the Month of January!!!
Once again Montgomery Area Transit has selected quite an outstanding individual as their Employee of the Month. This month it’s Mr. Phillip Henry.
“Wesley”, as he is referred to by his co-workers, has been a Montgomery Area Transit System employee since May of 1979. In that time he has exhibited his dedication and enthusiasm for his position as an operator on a daily basis. As a matter of fact, just prior to him receiving this award, Mr. Henry was receiving and contributing to the procedure that MATS should take in accommodating a particular passenger. It is this type of concern for his regular and potential regular passengers that makes him an excellent candidate.
Mr. Henry is a very loving and caring husband and father. Normally a quite person, there are only three topics that gets him started on a lengthy conversation. The first is his son, Wesley, Jr. and next is hunting. But if you really have the time and want to be informed, just ask him about the “stock market”.
Congratulation Mr. Henry on your being selected Montgomery Area Transit’s Employee of the Month..

Michael McDermott

February’s employee of the month is Michael McDermott who joined the MATS’ team in September of 2000.
Mike is an individual that works with any individual with ease. He extends that persona into the operation of his job assignments. No matter which run he is assigned, he will fine tune it to his likings and relay the information to others.
In the three (3) plus years he has been employed at MATS, he’s always willing to extend a helping hand, be it to a confused passenger, a coworker or management personnel with the sole intent of improving service for the riding public and MATS.
The retired military gentleman is also a proud and loving father that likes spending as much time as possible with his beautiful children. And he’s very swift in displaying their photos to anyone that asks.
We salute Mr. McDermott on being selected MATS’ February employee of the month!!!

JUNE 2004

Teresa Williams
|
|
|
|
Congratulations go to Teresa Williams for being chosen as June employee of the month.
Recently, Teresa picked up a disabled passenger at his home and secured him in the bus as usual. She then smelled smoke coming from the engine compartment... the bus was on fire. Teresa quickly de-boarded all passengers and moved them a safe distance from the fire, called dispatch for assistance from the Montgomery Fire Dept. and a replacement bus to continue service to passengers as quickly as possible. Her quick thinking and during this stressful event allowed Teresa to minimize what could have been a disastrous situation. It is just this kind of professionalism that exemplifies what it is to be a MATS operator.
Teresa has been employed at MATS since May of 2000. She has worked as a dispatcher, assisted in the maintenance department and is now an operator who chooses to work with the Paratransit (MAP) service here at MATS.
Teresa Williams is very deserving of this award. Teresa is married with 2 children and she loves pizza.

Mr. Davis is a loving father, and in his off time “The Element” is the consummate entertainer. Some people, including Davis himself, say that he is the next “Tupac.” The jury is still out on that one but in the mean time, Congratulations Anthony, for your efforts to be all you can be at Montgomery Area Transit System.

He is knowledgeable in the system overall and if he does not have an answer he most definitely will find out.
