Cornelious Williams

 |
 |
|
Cornelious Williams began his employment with Montgomery Area Transit in April of 1968 when we were known as National City Lines.
In his 35 years plus of continuous service, Mr. Williams has quietly performed his duties in a manner in which it has earned him his nickname around MATS, Tippy.
Mr. Williams is also very reliable. His attendance reflects his job performance. Both are consistent and on time. He performs his job so well that he is sometimes overlooked. Cornelious is the type of employee that any employer wishes he had a dozen.
He is also a loving and caring husband and father.
We consider ourselves at MATS to be very fortunate to have Cornelious as an employee.

Henry Gholston

Congratulations are to be extended to one of Montgomery Area Transit’s more than outstanding individuals. Mr. Henry Gholston has been selected the Employee of the Month of March.
“Hank”, as he is known at Montgomery Area Transit, has been a very dependable employee for MATS since August of 1975. In his twenty-seven (27) years plus of service, baring vacation or illness, one can count on him being present when the roll call is made. Not only is he a dependable operator, he shows a tremendous amount of compassion for his passengers as well as his co-workers. I imagine that is why he is known as “Candy Man” among his many passengers.
Hank is a loving husband and father and a devout Christian. It is this faith that directs him to be as compassionate individual that he is to anyone he comes in contact with.
So congratulations Mr. “Hank” on your honored recognition as being selected the Employee of the Month.

Robert Thomas
|
 |
 |
|
This month’s Employee to the Month is an individual that could be described as one who is almost invisible. Mr. Robert Thomas.
Invisible that is to the management staff but is recognized as a huge mountain, not in stature, to his everyday passengers. His passengers not only appreciate his efforts but are willing to go that extra mile in helping with new riders.
Mr. Thomas has been an outstanding operator since December 12, 1976. The twenty-seven year veteran has shown time and again his dedication to the MATS family. Whenever needed, he is there to do whatever he can to help MATS thrive. Be it extra work, charter service or training operators.
More than an exceptional operator, he is also a devoted husband, father and Christian. He is very active in his family and his church as well.
Montgomery Area Transit is well served with an operator the caliber of Robert.
Congratulations Robert and here’s to another twenty-seven years.

Crest T. Harris; Employee of the Month
Crest T. Harris is this month’s “Employee of the Month” for Montgomery Area Transit. He has been an operator for Montgomery Area Transit since July of 1988. He’s shown his dedication throughout his fifteen (15) years of service over and over again.
“Tony” has done an outstanding job for MATS but none has stood out more than when he became a regular operator on the Lightning Route.
“Tony” Harris has been an inspiration to all that comes in contact with him. Especially the visitors that come to the city of Montgomery, Alabama who happens to venture out and take a ride on the Lightning Route. His talent has been well documented by the numerous letters that the Mayor’s Office has received complementing the City and Montgomery Area Transit on such an outstanding job that Tony has done on his tours. His dedication is exemplified in that his narratives of the different sites along the route were self-taught.
Congratulations Tony on you being selected this month’s “Employee of the Month”.
