Congratulations are to go out to Mr. John Baldwin on becoming Montgomery Area Transit’s Employee of the Month for January 2002. John started working for Montgomery Area Transit in October of 1974. He has two sons in which he is very proud.
Since that time, John has been a great farther, a very good and dependable operator and supervisor. His wife, Vivian, seems to think he is a wonderful husband.

When Montgomery Area Transit converted to the DART system, John moved into the scheduling office where he schedules individuals on the DART daily runs.
Not only does he diligently work in the scheduling office daily, he also is responsible for the daily revenue count at Montgomery Area Transit.
As one can see, J. B., as we all call him, wears many hats at Montgomery Area Transit.
But there is still another one.
J. B., (Nine-Five-O), is an accomplished musician. He plays the drums for a local band. This is a hobby that J.B. has been doing for more than two decades.
So congratulations again Mr. John Baldwin on your accomplishments here at Montgomery Area Transit and in your life as well.
Right HandMan.

Diane Maddox
Congratulations are to go out to Ms. Diane Maddox on being selected Montgomery Area Transit’s Employee of the Month for the month of April. Ms. Maddox came to work for Montgomery Area Transit in February of 2000. Since that time she has worked in three (3) different departments for Montgomery Area Transit.
She started as a clerk in the dispatch office. She then moved to the Paratransit department, and finally into the Fixed Route department. Of course now she still works a little in the Paratransit.
In the short period that she has been employed here, no matter which department, she has proven time and again to be a great asset. No matter what is asked of her to do, she does so with a great attitude and a smile.
Even though she is a dedicated employee, she is just as or even more so a dedicated mother. So, again, congratulations go out to Ms. Maddox on being selected Employee of the Month.

Pete Patterson
Pete Patterson started with Montgomery Area Transit in May of 1967 when the company was known as National City Lines. Since that time, the 35-year veteran has performed his daily tasks with enthusiasm. Maybe, because “Mr. Pete” is what anyone who knows him would call a “people’s person.” “Mr. Pete” is well liked by many of the regular passengers as well as the operators of Montgomery Area Transit.
“Mr. Pete” is always willing to go above and beyond his duties. This has been proven even more so since his promotion to street supervisor. No matter what task is asked of him, he will perform it just as he always has in the 35 years he has been employed here. Be it driving a bus or monitoring the bus routes and answering passengers’ questions with no questions asked he does what is required to get the job done.
He is also a loving husband and father, not only to his family and church but also to many of his co-workers and passengers.
Congratulations Mr. Pete and here’s to another 35 years with MATS.

Connie Smith
Connie Smith started working for Montgomery Area Transit in February 2002.
Mr. Smith is the type of employee that almost never gets noticed. This is how efficient he performs his duties. Whenever he is asked to perform extra work, he always does so without a complaint.
I say he is unnoticed, but not by his everyday passengers. He always has a kind word for them and a smile. He knows when they work, where they work and what time they leave work. He is always conscientious of providing a safe trip for all of Montgomery Area Transit’s customers.
Since the time he has been at Montgomery Area Transit there has not been a complaint into the Customer Service Department, only compliments.
Mr. Smith is truly a “Goodwill Ambassador” for Montgomery Area Transit.
Keep up the good work Mr. Smith. It is greatly appreciated by all.
